I received a call from one of my tax clients today. He mailed his return around the first of March and just last week received one of his certified letter receipts from sending his return. Today he got a check in the mail for his tax refund. On his last phone call to the IRS he was informed to expect payment around June or July. But what was puzzling to him is he was expecting the refund to be direct deposited as usual. It was not although all that information was supplied on his return. This tells me they are having a hard time getting to computers for payment and are taking what may be the easier route to print checks.
