According to BPEarthwatch, his podcast Hoover Dam Critical Update! The Race to Save Mead is On! I s a must see. He is saying that the Crane-way above the dam is broken and needs to be repaired/replaced. That will take 2 to 3 years.
In the meantime, within six months all of the dams will fail in that SW area covering three states and causing another 50 million people to become homeless by this year end. Word is out that they cannot sell their homes without water or power will have to be returned to the banks as they are unsellable.
Without sale of their homes, these 50 million will be unable to purchase a new home, thus making them homeless. If we assume there are 300 million US citizens and suddenly 50 million become homeless overnight, that is 1/6th of the population, or 17% of it!

With all of this occurring outside of the Main Street News and governments, this makes the real catastrophic the shock that the US may no longer need a strong Central Government.
It will be apparent that the governments no longer serve the population. They just aren't concerned.
