Jim’s Rant For The Day. General Dynamics & Force Majeure.

General Dynamics, a global aerospace and defense company, made the right decision in scraping their Vax mandate because 40% of their employees refused to comply. First of all, losing 40% of highly skilled plant workers would have bankrupted them outright. They would have to halt production on current contracts and probably not be awarded new ones for years.

But if they survived that they would have to rely on their Force Majeure contract clause to gain more performance time on current contracts and avoid late penalties. In doing so they would have to prove the pandemic was an “Act of God” and not a human creation. At the same time they would have to prove that the problem was entirely an act of god and not aggravated by a suicide idea of management contributing to the problem.

Yes, they made the right decision and so will a lot of other companies that wake up to the road they are going down.
