I am going crazy today because I can’t get that grill warning out of my head.
In my senior year of High School I joined the school chorus. One day before class a fellow baritone came in singing this stanza to the music of Down By The Riverside. At that time I was not familiar with the song Riverside, I just thought Paul had a catchy tune to sing.
This is what he sang that I recall:
When you go down to the Western Auto store
Don’t buy the bar-B-Que grill,
Don’t buy the bar-B-Que grill,
a don’t buy the bar-B-Que grill,
When you go down to the Western Auto store
a don’t buy the bar-B-Que grill anymore.
Whenever we saw each other around school we always broke into a round of it together.
Those were fun times.
