Jim’s Rant For The Day. Bank Bullet Proof Glass.
Updated: May 29
I just received a call from a most trusted friend. He just left Bank of America in Pensacola, Florida. It appears work was being done on glass inside the bank so he asked two different tellers what they were doing. It was explained that all inside glass would be replaced with bullet proof glass before next week, including teller cages and offices.
I can only think of three reasons a bank would do this. They are:
1) The bank fears its tellers may threaten to shoot customers.
2) The bank fears customers may threaten to shoot employees.
3) The bank wants to make sure employees show up for work on tense days.
Let me remind you that banks are now requiring appointments to speak with non-teller employees. Note I am not using the term "Bank Officers" because I don't think they have those anymore. In my opinion the appointment book is to limit the number of customers in the bank.
