Jim’s Daily Rant. Letitia James Married Her Father?

On April 17th, 2025, The Western Journal published this article: Jaw-Dropper: Letitia James Has Married Her Father According to Official Documents.

That article concedes that the only evidence of a marriage is the manner in which The attorney James filed the deed to her latest real estate acquisition puts the title in the name of James and her father, “Husband and Wife”. So no, she didn’t actually marry him. She just lied on the Deed she recorded.

According to the Western Journal article, they believe it was done to get her a better mortgage rate. I disagree. It was done so that in the event of a meltdown in her career, creditors would not seize that property.

Here’s why I say that. All states, under English law, recognize the sanctity of the marital home. It protects a spouse so that their partner cannot squander the Marital home without their prior consent.

In the case of lawsuits or bankruptcy, the marital home is exempt from seizure or liens unless both spouses pledge it as collateral. Therefore, if one spouse has bad luck, it does not endanger the family home. It cannot be leaned or attached unless both spouses agree to it.

This is why James is in legal trouble – she defrauded or attempted to defraud some creditor other another.

This is why you see wealthy people with large multi-Million dollar homes. If they have bad luck and file bankruptcy, the marital home is exempt and can be their nest-egg after the bankruptcy.
