The "AI Generated Hoax" is actually true but maybe dramatized for fear-porn entertainment.
Unless you live in CA - then it's a real issue for jobs and taxes, etc. The actual exit will occur gradually over several years. Another factor in the mid-term, say 5-10 years, is that a lot of energy will be shifting to hydrogen and other lower cost energy tech.
