Good summary. You might add that McAfee is/was a Bitcoin/Blockchain enthusiast. Rumor is that he put the data on the Ethereum Blockchain so it would be stored globally. One group says they are currently in the process of downloading the data from the distributed ledger for volunteers to sort and analyze. My 1.6 Mbit/s connection might take months or years to transfer 31T bytes. Analyzing that would take one person decades.
