Jim's Rant For The Day: Chicago Sues Smollett For $130,000.

I once took a criminal law class in which the subject of the death penalty popped up. The instructor pointed out that in law school he was dead set against the death penalty. A few years later he got a summons to appear at a Florida death-by-frying event at the local Penitentiary. He discovered one of his former classmates was on the Florida Penal Board and had caused the new attorney to be a witness for the state. The instructor said the convict was a real animal and could no longer be allowed to go back to society. He said he made it through the peep show OK but threw up when he was alone by his car. He said after much time and consideration he is no longer totally against the death penalty. He says, in his opinion, there are just some crimes that the community must deal with in a way that gets it out of their system, much like his throwing up that day. Perhaps the Smollett lawsuit is how Chicago throws up on him and Fox. Perhaps the reflex to vomit was so strong that Emanuel just had to let it happen.

Note: The above Rant was predicated on this post I made to a chat room today:

Two weeks ago Chicago made the decision to bill Smollett. Their goal was not to gain cash back for expenses, it was to destroy him for what he and Prosecutor Fox did to the people. Here is the plan. Bill Him, then sue him for non payment in civil court. Remember that in criminal court the level of proof is "beyond a reasonable doubt." But in civil court, the rule is "51% of the evidence points to. . " So the plan is to expose Smollett in public court. Now add to the upcoming court circus the rumors that the Deep State (or Democrats) may have had a hand in causing the crime to begin with; just a possibility. Then after Chicago wins a judgement against Smollett they can pursue him financially for about 14 years, all while wreaking havoc on Prosecutor Fox's career forever. The only amazing thing about all of this is that it is supported by Rahm Emanuel, a Deep Stater if there ever was one.
