Jim’s Rant For The Day. Shot Across McCain’s Bow.

There is a scene from the 2000 Movie Thirteen Days, depicting the Cuban Missile Crisis. That scene I am referring to is when Robert McNamara was in the Navy Operations Room when the U. S. was testing its quarantine against Russian ships. The world was holding it’s nuclear war breath at the time.

The Admiral in charge of the room ordered a flare shell be fired at a Russian freighter being escorted by a Russian nuclear sub. McNamara went wild as the order was in conflict with his boss’s order (John Kennedy). McNamara hollered that a new language was being invented between Khrushchev and Kennedy, and the Admiral just interfered with the conversation.

All I can say in regards to the Destroyer John McCain is that somebody is sure talking to somebody.

First let’s recall the Destroyer Fitzgerald had a “similar accident“ two months ago. Just last week the Navy announced it was crew leadership at fault and fired several officers. Now withing four days of the announcement it happens again? In fact, so far this year this is the fourth Navy accident; that’s one every 2 months.

Now let’s look at the simple odds only, not the hard odds. What are the odds that the most ardent congressman pushing war also has a Navy warship named after his family name? Once you get that number multiply them together for the “simple” odds.

Here it is: 630 Congressmen TIMES 430 warships Equals Odds of 1 in 270,000.

Yep, simply put, somebody is talking to somebody.
