Jim’s Daily Rant. Self Eating Buzzard Barons.

This morning I saw two news articles that stunned me as to where our future is fast heading.
First was this one: Who Made The Most US Unicorn Acquisitions Since 1997?.
The Tyler Durden article’s opening paragraph is:
“The elusive unicorn is no longer a myth in the U.S. startup world, with over a thousand private startups reaching a $1 billion valuation in the last 25 years.”
The article then ravels the bragging rights of the Venture Capital companies (VC) that struck gold with them.
But for us non-venture capitalists, just what the hell is a “Unicorn”? It is a start up company, usually pioneering new technology or invention, that the VC expects to reap a $Billion from quickly.
Perhaps Barbara Guth, author of The Evolution of Finance. . . Beyond The Vision To Freedom might agree that they are, in my words, Self Eating Buzzard Barons. As she points out in her book, the VC keeps those that appear to be on the path to $1B and discard (resell) all the other investments that don’t appear to be that valuable. At first glance that appears to be reasonable.
But she goes on and points that the VC abandons the new business and gives them the kiss of death. Thus the VC discards 80% of their initial investments because they may not make the $1 Billion threshold. But in so doing they “vote” new technology off the planet. Thus, instead of helping humanity they curse humanity. They are eating the meat off their own bones!
According to Guth, she suggests the Venture Capitalists after the Collapse will nurture all start-ups in a manner that recognizes their contribution to humanity and protects them as they grow and succeed. She is proposing a new Corporate / Trust entity that keeps VC from destroying the inventor or his new company. This would prevent Atlas Shrugged (Who Is John Gault?) scenarios from occurring in the future and robbing us of our innovators.
If I have lost you with all of this, let me put it in other words. The popular movie Pretty Woman was about an admired capitalist that pirated companys that did not wish to be sold, broke them up into small parts and sold off those parts, sort of like a stolen auto chop shop. But in doing so he tore out the heart of communities by destroying their jobs base. Thus he was a Self Eating Buzzard Baron, eating his own country.
The second article was this one: Newsom Blasts Target CEO 'Sell-Out', Claims Nationwide "Systematic Attack" On LGBTQ People Imminent. Its author, Tyler Durden, says that the California Governor is raising Cain because Target reversed its decision and is now hiding trans-gender merchandise. Durden concludes:
“With a Twitter account of over 2 million, Newsom might have kicked off a boycott by Democrats.
This is precisely what happened to Bud Light when the brewer ditched Mulvaney, angering the LGBTQ+ community and triggering boycotts on both sides of the political aisle.
When will these corporate elites ever learn that diving into gender identity politics is a dangerous game?“
What I really hear Durden saying is the Democrats are eating the flesh off their own bones by attacking their own for breaking rank. Target must now die for they have lost all shoppers – those for trans-gender pride and those against it. Yep, other Self Eating Buzzard Barons got ‘em.
