When I was commercial loan officer I had two gentlemen come in to make a $300 personal loan.
Not only did they look like two drunks but the smelled it too.
I went through the motions and asked if they had credit references. The older one said he had none. I explained that the only way I could make the loan was to have a co-signor. You guessed it, his “little buddy” would co-sign for him. A few days later I saw them pulling weeds in another banks flower beds.
