Maybe "3 Days In May" was the 1961 preview - they always tell us in advance... Wasn't the Cuban Missile Crisis in October, 1962? That crisis lasted a bit longer than 3 days.
Couldn't find anything about a missile crisis movie called "3 Days in May", but did find "Thirteen Days, 2000" with Kevin Costner. It's free at the Wayback Machine:
